Unleash Potential: Leveraging AI in Digital Marketing

At Brew City Marketing in Milwaukee, we help our clients improve their digital marketing strategies by finding innovative ways to use the latest technology. We are excited about the new opportunities that AI brings to businesses, which can help them enhance their marketing strategies.

Using AI in digital marketing can change how businesses engage with customers, personalize their experiences, and analyze data in digital marketing. By leveraging AI-powered tools, businesses can gain a competitive edge by making data-driven decisions and delivering more relevant and targeted content to their audience.

Utilizing AI in Digital Marketing

AI can be an effective marketing tool for a variety of digital marketing strategies. By analyzing data and predicting consumer behavior, AI can help businesses make informed decisions and improve their marketing efforts. For example, AI can:

Personalize the customer experience: AI can analyze customer data and use it to make personalized product recommendations, creating a more personalized and engaging experience for the customer.

Improve targeting: AI can analyze customer data and use it to create more targeted advertising campaigns, ensuring that the right message is delivered to the right audience at the right time.

Optimize ad spend: AI can analyze ad performance and adjust bidding strategies in real-time to ensure that ad spend is used effectively.

Predict customer behavior: AI can analyze customer data to predict future behavior, allowing businesses to respond to customer needs and preferences proactively.

Revolutionizing Online Marketing Strategies

AI’s advanced capabilities streamline operations and personalize audience engagement, reshaping digital marketing. This starts with AI’s impact on numerous marketing initiatives, from SEO strategies and content development to marketing campaign reporting.

Content Creation and Curation

AI can assist in generating content that is customized to the preferences and behaviors of target audiences. This includes creating engaging and relevant blog outlines, social media content, and personalized email marketing messages. AI-driven content creation tools can analyze trending topics, keyword popularity, and audience engagement to suggest content themes that most likely resonate with viewers.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

AI can help businesses optimize their online content for search engines more efficiently. AI tools can analyze search trends, keyword relevance, and the competitive landscape to suggest SEO strategies that enhance visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs), driving more organic traffic to their sites.

Marketing Automation

AI enhances marketing automation by enabling more sophisticated and personalized customer journeys. It automatically segments audiences based on their behavior and preferences, delivering custom messages at optimal times without manual intervention and significantly increasing conversion rates.

Campaign Analysis and Reporting

AI tools provide comprehensive analytics and instant reporting capabilities, enabling businesses to measure their marketing campaigns’ effectiveness accurately. These insights help marketers quickly identify successful elements of their campaigns and areas for improvement, facilitating more informed strategic decisions in future campaigns.

The Importance of a Balanced Approach

It’s important to note that while AI can be a powerful tool, it can’t do everything. A well-rounded marketing strategy that includes a mix of AI and human expertise is essential. For example, while AI can help businesses personalize the customer experience, human input is critical to ensure that the recommendations are appropriate and accurate.

Similarly, while AI can help businesses optimize their ad spend, it’s essential to have a human touch to make sure that the ads align with the company’s overall marketing strategy.

At Brew City Marketing, we believe in taking a balanced approach that leverages the strengths of both AI and human expertise to create a customized digital marketing strategy that meets the unique needs of our clients.

Crafting The Right Marketing Message For Your Business

Successful small businesses know how to communicate the true value of their product or service. They excel at differentiating themselves with offers that are truly unique. By definition, differentiation is the desirable, exclusive benefit(s) that sets a business apart from the competition. And it’s critical to successful marketing.

However, some business owners I’ve met struggle with this all-important aspect of small business marketing. I understand why. They’re so close to their product or service that it’s difficult to articulate a clear, compelling advantage in their digital marketing, advertising, social media, etc. Some owners even consider it bragging.

Because standing out in a crowded marketplace is crucial, this post shares tips on how to differentiate your company. We’re going to break it down into actionable techniques. After reading this blog post, you’ll be able to communicate why a prospect should choose you over your competitors.

Vital Questions About Your Marketing Message

Just about every important marketing decision you make will begin with a definition of your target market. Having a rock-solid understanding of your target customers and their pain points will make answering these vital questions a breeze.

Start by answering this question: what void in the marketplace do you fill? Your goal is to discover what’s missing.

Look at your product or service offering from the customer’s perspective. Is it complete? Does it offer all the benefits that consumers desire? Are there gaps in how customers are treated after the sale? What do people hate about your industry that you can fix? What can you do better, faster or more reliably than anyone else?

Customers will compare your product with your competitors. You need to do the same, focusing on your primary competitors. Be as objective as possible.

Try this fill-in-the-blank exercise. Unlike other companies, we offer / provide / deliver: _________

The goal is to uncover what is truly unique. Identify the value that consumers can’t get elsewhere. If there is something proprietary about your product or service offering, use it to your advantage. Shout it from the rooftops.

Take inspiration from Colonel Sanders. He knows the significance of keeping his herbs and spices a secret! The KFC brand has been around for decades and the exact recipe is still a secret because it works. According to Dan Myers, “…you have to admit: Keeping the recipe a trade secret is some seriously good marketing.”

Make A List

The marketing experts at Brew City Marketing coach their clients to leverage list-making. Make a list of everything you do for customer service. Include even the smallest things that you assume everyone should know are included.

Amanda Dalnodar: “I asked a roofer that was having trouble coming up with marketing messages to recount everything they do on the job site from beginning to end. I identified things we could list out such as cleaning up the job site before they leave each day. It seemed really obvious to him, but if their competition isn’t listing it out, it may be a differentiating factor to prospects checking out the marketplace.”

You’ve Figured Out What To Say, What’s Next?

Focus on communicating customer benefits, not product features. This has been a foundation of advertising for decades. Why? Because it’s proven to work.

We’re talking about the benefit that will drive prospects to choose your business over your competitors. Most customers don’t care about features, they want to know what’s in it for them. Bottom line, they expect to receive a product or service that solves a problem.

For example, homeowners want their lawn to be attractive and easy to maintain. And when it comes to mowing their grass, they’re usually less concerned with the nitty-gritty details of a lawn mower engine (features). They want to know if it’s going to be easy to operate and keep their lawn looking good (benefits).

Amateur golfers like me don’t buy golf balls because of what’s inside the ball (feature). We buy the ones that promise to go farther and straighter (benefit)!

Be crystal clear about what the customer gets in exchange for doing business with you. Don’t confuse them or try to impress them with jargon. You know when you’ve achieved clarity when someone with no experience with your product understands your offer. I encourage clients to test the clarity of their marketing messages, continually refining them until they discover what works.

Customer Journey

The job of marketing is to communicate to consumers based on where they are in their buying journey. That means your marketing has to communicate at different levels of customer interest in your product. In other words, not everyone wants to buy your product right now. Think of customers going through different stages of a cycle, eventually reaching a purchase decision.

Great marketing provides “awareness” messaging. This is the short version of your marketing message. It’s specifically designed for marketing platforms such as social media and paid Google ads. Google ads are very effective because they’re placed where consumers search.

You’ll use longer versions of your marketing message on your website and blog. Customers that spend time on your website or read your blog posts are likely further along in their journey. That’s a good signal that they’re getting ready to buy and want to know more about your offering.

For customers that are ready to buy, you need to provide proof you can deliver on your claims. Do that with testimonials, online reviews and case studies. You can also offer a guarantee that takes away their risk, helping them feel comfortable with trying your product.

Conclusion

No two businesses are the same. Effectively communicating what differentiates yours from the competitors is vital to success. Marketing message development has to include differentiation. Without it, a product or service is simply a commodity, which puts negative pressure on your price strategy.

Design Psychology and the Neuroscience of Awesome UX

The profession of a web designer is heterogeneous, versatile, closely related to various sciences and technologies. Knowledge of design is deep and rich, implies a solid store of knowledge and skills in many areas, including psychology. Psychology is actually a very vast and complex science, with a huge number of sections, and it is quite closely related to design. Indeed, in fact, the main goal of design is to increase the “significance” of the product in the eyes of the user, and design psychology studies the basic mechanisms by which our consciousness works.

Psychological aspects of design

There is no need to prove the connection between psychology and web design. This is obvious, if only because the transmission of information through the means of Internet resources has clear laws and principles of perception, based on the same laws according to which psychology is applied in practice in everyday life, business, advertising, and relationships between people, in the end. What’s important here? Colour, text, graphics …

The visitor enters the site, begins to consciously and subconsciously read information. The feelings that awaken at the same time are actually a psychological reaction – positive, negative. All this can be calculated, analysed, corrected – you just need to know-how.

As usual, nothing needs to be invented. For tens of years, scrupulous scientists have been collecting knowledge, forming effective conclusions, reflecting the information obtained in tons of works on psychology for all occasions.

To succeed, you just have to correctly dispose of this knowledge and apply it in practice in order to influence the mood and behaviour of your visitors, in general, to control the situation.

Most important psychological laws in design

In fact, in our life, we are faced with a huge number of marketing and design “gadgets” based on psychological principles, and today we will talk about the main ones, namely:

  • Miller’s law
  • Hick’s Law
  • Jacob’s Law

Let’s take a look at them in order.

Miller’s law

George Miller is a “very smart guy”, he was able to establish a rather interesting property of our mind: an average person can store in his short-term memory about 7 ± 2 elements (by the way, one of the consequences of this phenomenon is that a person uses in his daily life at the same time about 3 objects). The consequence of this phenomenon in design is fragmentation.

Fragmentation

Fragmentation is the division of an object into many parts. In design, this is expressed in the selection of groups of elements:

  • Frames around newspaper articles
  • Type of telephone number
  • Where blocks of three digits are highlighted
  • Even a keyboard on which several zones are allocated

All this allows our brain to more quickly and accurately assimilate information, remember what it saw.

Hick’s Law

This pattern of human consciousness was identified by William Edmund Hick and Ray Hyman, its main essence can be expressed in the phrase – complexity in simplicity. This law says that the more we come across elements that influence our consciousness, the more time is allotted to react to them, a kind of “ancestor” of Miller’s law.

Example

The most understandable example is the modern settings of any browser. Initially, going into the settings, we see several tabs, by going through which we open all the new options and find the value we need pretty quickly. But imagine that all the options will be thrown into a heap. Search time will increase noticeably, won’t it? This is a clear example of both Hick’s law and its solution.

Jacob’s Law

This law is perhaps the most widespread in our life. It was formulated recently, in 2000, and its main essence is that users expect from a site the same design and functionality that they have already met (meaning sites of a certain subject).

Why is there a redesign?

Surely you have a question why the design of sites and large resources is being updated because it goes against this law and so on. In fact, the reason is that the human brain quickly switches to a new model, but it still takes a little time. And in order to give it to users, a fairly simple way is used: letting them choose the version of the site they want to be on. And before the updates themselves, various votes are created in order to take into account the opinion of the majority in the redesign.

4 ingredients for success

There are only four main components in web design that significantly affect the psychology of user behaviour:

  • Space.
  • Content.
  • Text formatting.
  • Colour.

You need to learn how to operate them perfectly, then you will never have problems with creating popular resources. Let’s go in order.

Space

The organisation of the space of each web page of the future site is the main stumbling block, both at the stage of training and at moments of creative crises for already experienced masters. Space is a priority for any project; every centimetre must be taken into account.

For example, a “white space”, a part of the canvas without visual filling. This is an indispensable element, its task is to increase concentration on important accents, rest for the eyes, etc. You should not ignore it. Or the “principle of minimalism”, which obliges to minimise everything that is blinking, chaotic, and too complex for the perception of secondary importance.

Content

The design frames the content in the required frame. Let’s not forget that visitors come to the site for information first of all, and only then for creating special effects and other tinsel. Everything matters: the number of characters on the page, line width, indents, headings, etc.

Do not obscure the text with visualisation, give each element its own place. Keep track of the purity of the content, the correctness of the links, the relevance of the data provided, the absence of elementary typos. All this can negatively affect the attitude towards your brand, and, by the way, transfer from the web to the real space.

Text formatting

Let us remind you once again that the design of the text can cause much more resentment among visitors than even not very relevant information in it. Sydney SEO Experts advise that you don’t have to chase all the achievements of SEO and CSS at once, implement all possible fonts, bells and whistles and framing letters in one project.

Each style has its own common font: official, solid, academic, news, technical, futuristic, sophisticated, prestigious, etc. Learn to catch this fine line between the two.

Further, the construction of the text, its readability by means of intervals, paragraphs, the air in lines, sizes. Typography also touches on the issues of colour solutions in texts, on what background to write in what colour, how not to ruin your site even before its birth.

Colour

The psychology of colour in web design is generally a very responsible and extensive topic. Colour can convey everything: feelings, emotions, convey the most important things. Modern designers rarely (especially when it comes to commercial projects) experiment with colours, for most cases, they have already been selected and are working successfully. Here are a couple of examples:

  • Sites dedicated to natural cosmetics or household chemicals are 60% green – this helps to associate them with nature;
  • Hi-tech sites use blue – reliable and confident;
  • if it is a culinary site, 70% will be beige, causing appetite and associations with airy cream;
  • Yellow is energy, you need to look for it on sites about outdoor activities, sports, especially in combination with grey and turquoise.

Colour riddles: answers are near

There are many factors that affect how a person perceives information:

  • Someone processes visuals more easily;
  • It is better for someone to hear the information;
  • And someone perceives phenomena exclusively tactile.

But with all this, the psychology of the influence of colour works in approximately the same way for everyone. This is due to the world around us, natural phenomena that have the same colour in all corners of the world.

For example, red is dangerous, white is pure, orange is warm, etc. Each shade has an emotional colour, so we can safely say that the psychology of colours in web design is not an empty phrase, but a working scheme.

As a web designer, what should you learn in this direction?

First, the psychology of the behavioural factors of various categories of users. You need to know: who is looking for it, why is looking for it, how they react to colour signals, etc.

Secondly, the rules for developing site design, taking into account the psychology of your specific target audience.

Third, the basics of colour coding information. For example, the most effective current methods are encoding by size, slope, brightness, spatial orientation, and shape.

Fourth, methods of focusing and building an associative array.

Fifth, the basics of design analysis in terms of attractiveness to users.

Conclusion

If you want to always achieve the task at hand when developing projects for various sites, you cannot do without knowledge of design psychology. You need to create your own unique set of tools through which you will influence visitors. In the end, this knowledge will come in handy not only in the field of full-scale web design but, for example, in working with logos.

Brew City Marketing’s Amanda Dalnodar Nominated for Enterprising Women of the Year Award

Our Founder and CEO, Amanda Dalnodar, has been nominated for the 2021 Enterprising Women of the Year Award. Since launching Brew City Marketing in 2009, Amanda has fearlessly led the business from startup to success. Today, Brew City Marketing is a thriving woman-owned enterprise with a strong presence in the greater Milwaukee area.

As part of the nomination process, Amanda was interviewed with a series of questions. Her answers perfectly exemplify why she is deserving of this once-in-a-lifetime award:

Describe the business or industry you are in:

I am in the digital marketing industry, specializing in local search marketing for small businesses. We function as an extension of our client’s business, serving as their remote digital marketing department.

What is the greatest challenge you have faced since starting this company?

I’ve found it challenging to prioritize my career growth while trying to keep up with the growth of the company. Fostering a team of highly skilled professionals requires me to continually work at sharpening my own skills.

How did you meet that challenge?

I began meeting with mentors, enrolled in several courses, hired a marketing consultant, and worked with a business coach. All these services helped me to fine-tune my leadership skills. I’m a big believer in teamwork, and have found that surrounding myself with talented, innovative people has been paramount to our success.

Where do you want your company to be in five years?

Our current clientele is mostly local small businesses, but I would like to see us expand on a national level. For 2021, we’ve created a marketing plan focused on servicing clients across the country. The pandemic has helped small businesses like ours become more comfortable communicating virtually. Nowadays, everyone is accustomed to doing business remotely. Even my 86 year old grandma uses FaceTime!

How do you give back to the community?

As a business, it’s rewarding to give back to our community. Each quarter, we select a local organization to support. Over the years, we’ve held coat drives for the homeless, collected and donated books to schools, picked up trash for Earth Day, and participated in Giving Tuesday. We’ve also helped organizations promote their cause through advertisements on our website and social media pages.

Are you involved in any formal or informal programs to mentor girls or young women entrepreneurs?

I choose to hire and mentor students from local universities. At one time, I was managing as many as eight students. Along with $15 per hour pay, I give them real responsibilities and marketing tasks while offering leadership guidance and career advice.

What is the single best piece of advice you want to share with women who are starting new businesses?

My favorite bit of advice is to “Follow your passion.” I trusted my intuition and built a career in an industry I felt passionate about. Now I find that I don’t even do this for myself anymore, I do it for the people I work with. That mindset gives me all the energy and perseverance I need.

What do you know that you wish you had known when you started your business?

Dream big. If you work hard – harder than anyone you know – you will succeed.

Who was your role model or mentor?

My mom, Carol. She was the first in her family to graduate college and worked as an RN for 40 years. Additionally, she has an impressive and unending well of emotional strength and physical endurance. She taught me to be kind, optimistic, independent, and to never give up.

Have you used other people’s money to grow your business? (bank loan, friends, family, equity, etc)

It wasn’t until the pandemic began in 2020 that our business had to borrow money for the first time. We secured a PPP loan to maintain normalcy and continue offering our employees benefits and growth opportunities while our company revenue stagnated for months.

How has the use of technology helped you grow your business?

Technology is our business! As society becomes more dependent on technology, we know we can count on business needs evolving. We will continue to help small businesses leverage our tech services for growth.

Congratulations on your nomination, Amanda! We appreciate your strong leadership and unrelenting dedication to Brew City Marketing.

Unlock These 5 Proven Customer Retention Techniques

Now more than ever, customer retention is crucial for a thriving business. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a severe economic impact on small businesses. According to Business Insider, most small businesses don’t have the cash reserves to weather a prolonged economic interruption. Add in dramatic declines in consumer demand, layoffs, and stock market volatility, and it’s easy to see why hanging on to existing customers is essential to survival.

There is good news, however. Traditional marketing and digital marketing offer small business owners practical customer retention tools. Start using some or all of these techniques to boost the likelihood that your customers remain loyal.

1. Email Marketing/Automation

What I love the most about email marketing is that it’s an effective and economical touchpoint. It enables marketers to stay in touch with current customers. When timed well, it keeps your brand where you want it during the sales cycle – on your customer’s radar screen.

Platforms like Mail Chimp and Constant Contact continually improve their email marketing offerings with new features. Consequently, they offer many more creative templates, a user-friendly interface, and easy contact list management. In the case of Constant Contact, they provide excellent customer support online or by phone.

It’s no wonder Forbes refers to email marketing as “the most powerful tool to take your business to the next level.”  That’s because “email marketing still promises to deliver the highest ROI of all marketing channels—$42 back for every dollar you spend.” And understanding your marketing ROI (return on investment) is essential to effective marketing management and customer retention.

2. How-to Videos

Today’s best marketing content provides customers with value, especially video. In many cases, customers find value in brief instructive videos.

If your business doesn’t have a YouTube channel, consider creating one and promoting it. According to Sprout Social, YouTube is second only to Facebook in terms of active users. That means a good number of your customers are already using YouTube regularly.

If you have little or no experience in video marketing, no problem. YouTube offers the Creator Academy, a complementary tool for educating you with best practices in video marketing.

YouTube makes it easy to customize your channel and organize your videos for customers. Promote your channel with a link to it on your website and an icon on your business card. Also, the right titles and descriptions help consumers find your videos when they search.

3. Social Media Groups

Lockdowns during the pandemic have left many small business owners feeling isolated. The same goes for their customers.

Social media groups provide both the business owner and their customers opportunities for the personal interaction they crave. Social Media Today reports numerous benefits:

  • Show your human side and have one-on-one conversations with your audience.
  • Group members can interact around your brand, helping build trust and loyalty.
  • The group provides a space for people with similar interests to connect and have meaningful conversations. The primary driver behind creating a group should be the value it provides your customers.

4. Project Wrap-up Sessions

For businesses that provide a service, such as contractors and consultants, project wrap up sessions are a powerful customer retention tool for several reasons.

First, they allow customers to provide valuable feedback on your performance. It’s good practice to follow continuous improvement. And these customer listening meetings offer opportunities to improve how you deliver your service. Plus they help your customer feel like their needs are being met and any potential lingering issues are addressed. Customers that feel listened to will remain loyal for more extended periods.

Second, project wrap up sessions often lead to opportunities for you to deliver additional services either immediately or in the near future. If the customer has been satisfied with your performance, it would be natural to ask if there is anything else you can do for them. Or ask for a positive online review.

5. Customer Phone Calls

The pandemic may be the most critical time for you to call your customers. It’s a meaningful touchpoint any time, but especially now. The objective is to let them know you’re thinking about them.

Ask how they’re doing and even offer assistance if appropriate, but don’t use pressure tactics. Find a way to make a personal connection. Long after the pandemic has subsided, they’ll remember you as the company that genuinely cared about their well-being.

The management team at Brew City Marketing encourages their staff to reach out to their clients with a phone call. They strategize prior to the calls and emphasize showing their clients that they’re the digital marketing firm’s top priority.

Conclusion

Each of these techniques requires time and effort. But the payoff is enormous! You’ve worked hard to build your business. Make sure you’re doing everything possible to thrive now and beyond the pandemic by retaining your customers.

2020: A Year in Review

We made it through 2020! This year has been unusual for us all, and we wanted to give our clients & friends a little update on our new efforts to provide YOU with the best digital marketing service possible.

Over the last few months, we’ve hired on some exciting new people. These folks all have something valuable to offer; as a result, Brew City Marketing is now stronger than ever. We’ve also expanded our digital marketing software portfolio, which means that you now have access to even more state-of-the-art services. As we continue to grow, our comprehensive digital marketing packages will only improve—this translates to more traffic to your website and, ultimately, more business!

SEO Department Additions

Last year was an interesting one for the SEO department. We overhauled our SEO packages and streamlined some SEO processes. This change has improved our SEO services across the board—we now provide a multitude of services for any budget. Our biggest change, however, involves staffing.

We’re pleased to announce that our technical SEO guru, Austin, has returned from a brief leave of absence. Austin possesses a skill set that enables him to address any and all technical errors that cause Google to pass over a website. You can rest assured that Austin will make your website, Google My Business, and citations across the internet look as professional and uniform as possible.

We’ve also hired on Andrew as our full-time SEO specialist. Andrew comes from an intense writing background. He has written across multiple disciplines and used to teach writing courses at the university level. Andrew’s knowledge of writing across industries has proven to be valuable. Since we hired him, Google has released a core algorithm update that favors long form content. His copywriting abilities will set your company’s website apart from your competitors.

New Year, New Website

It’s time to take your online presence to the next level. Now more than ever, things are moving from brick-and-mortar shops to online services. This is especially true as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rage on. Luckily for you, you’ve hired on the best digital marketing team in the city!

HTML Conversions

In the past, we’ve hosted HTML sites through our GoDaddy servers. Unfortunately, we’re beginning to realize that GoDaddy is not the safest option (despite some budgetary advantages). Moving forward, we would urge our clients to convert their HTML websites to a WordPress website. Brew City Marketing uses its own dedicated server to host our clients’ WordPress websites—this means we can monitor your website on a 24/7 basis and prevent it from being hacked.

Aside from security concerns, it’s hard to deny that WordPress sites are simply more aesthetically pleasing. We can fully customize and control every function on a WordPress website. Additionally, WordPress is an open-source platform, which means that new widgets and plug-ins are being created and implemented every single day. By utilizing a WordPress website, you can rest assured that your website will always stand out from the crowd.

*New* Website Error Reporting Service

One of the newest additions to our portfolio is our website error checker. Websites can be finicky—anyone who has run one themselves knows this to be true. What you might not know, however, is that one single error in code can crash your website!

If you suspect that there might be an error in your website’s code, or need some assistance checking for grammar & spelling errors, you can always reach out to us for an audit. Once we run our report, you can either roll up your sleeves and fix the errors yourself or you can hand the task off to us—our team of pros will have your website fixed in no time.

*New* WordPress Training Options

If you find yourself lost on the backend of your website, don’t worry. We’ve all been there! We offer three levels of tutorials for different kinds of WordPress users. For those who need to spruce up their fundamentals, we have a complementary tutorial that breaks down the essential nuts and bolts of logging into and making changes on a website. For the more tech-savvy user, we can create custom tutorials that serve as a deep dive into a specific concept. Lastly, if you want a truly comprehensive guide, we can walk you through a tutorial virtually in real time—additionally, we’ll record the session, so you’ll have a reference guide in the future.

Giving Back to the Community: Holiday Volunteering at Milwaukee Rescue Mission

This year has been incredibly different and difficult for many families. Unfortunately, for some, this year has fundamentally changed their lives (not necessarily for the better in the short term). Right now, giving back to the community is more important than ever. Millions of people have lost their jobs due to COVID-19 concerns. Companies all over Milwaukee have shut their doors, and more and more families find themselves in desperate need of aid. Milwaukee is a strong city with even stronger people. This year, Brew City Marketing has made an extra effort to support our beautiful, vibrant community. Over the last few months, we’ve hosted jacket-donation and book-donation drives. We’ve also hosted food drives and have donated time and resources to other charitable causes. For this holiday season, we chose to volunteer at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.

What is the Milwaukee Rescue Mission?

The Milwaukee Rescue Mission (MRM) provides a variety of services to those in need. On a regular basis, the MRM serves underprivileged folks with hot and healthy meals. In fact, they donate 304,000 meals and 72,000 articles of clothing to those in dire need every year. Additionally, the MRM gives homeless children excellent education opportunities. These programs provide each student with a broad base of knowledge and skills, which places them in a better position to succeed as they grow into young adults. Overall, the MRM is committed to serving those in our community who need the most help. Their mission is as noble as it is effective, so it was a pleasure to work with them.

During these trying times, it is completely understandable that not everyone can donate money. And, due to COVID-19, volunteering in-person might not be an option for you. Regardless of your circumstance, it’s incredibly important to think about those who are not as fortunate as ourselves. Charitable giving is as heartwarming as it is life-changing. So, if you’re thinking about giving back to your community, consider looking through their website for more information about volunteer work and donation opportunities.

How Did Brew City Marketing Lend a Helping Hand?

The team at Brew City Marketing arrived at the MRM facility on Tuesday with a mission. We wanted to help make families’ Christmas memorable! So we rolled up our sleeves, put on our masks, and went to town. After we went through our COVID screening process, we were led to a room filled with Christmas presents. That’s not all, though: there were boxes upon boxes of blankets, thermal socks, winter hats, and bundles of necessities for families of all sizes. Every toy, every blanket, and every piece of winter clothing was donated by an individual from the community. It’s not every day that you get to see how generous the community is (in a tangible way). The whole team was blown away by the display of kindness—it was truly an amazing experience.

After our host gave us the rundown, our team split off into pairs and put together Christmas packages. Each pair received a handful of lists that gave us information about a specific family. We then picked out presents for the kids, winter clothes for the parents, and an extra gift for mom! We then wrapped each of the presents (some of us were better at wrapping presents than others!) and set them aside for delivery. At the end of the day, we collectively made packages for over fifteen families. We left feeling wonderful about our volunteer work, and we are grateful to have had a hand in making someone’s Christmas a bit more merry. Giving back to the community is something we love to do, but this outing was really special.

How Can I Help Contribute to My Community?

If this story has given you a bit more holiday cheer, and if you’re thinking about donating time or funds to a great cause, there are many ways to volunteer at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. The holidays are great, but this year’s holiday season is one like no other. If you are able to contribute in any way, now is the time to do so. Giving back to your community enriches everyone’s life, and it’s what keeps Milwaukee strong. So consider volunteering your time and energy for a beautiful cause—you won’t regret it!

Building a professional website is no small matter. Developers put in hours upon hours to make sure your website looks sleek and easy to read. If you’ve hired an outside company to build your website, chances are you’ve dumped thousands of dollars into your project. And, most of the time, the up-front cost is well worth it. You have a brand new website marked up for SEO and you’re ready to take the internet by storm. However, one tiny error can bring that all to a quick stop, and everything can come crashing down overnight. A broken link or a single grammatical error can tank your website in search engine rankings. In fact, if someone alters a single letter on the backend of your website, you might end up with hundreds of broken links that lead to your website. Fortunately, Brew City Marketing offers website error checker services!

Why Do I Need a Website Error Checker Audit?

Here at Brew City Marketing, we understand how important your website is to your business. It’s one of the first things a client associates with your company’s image. After we scan your website, we will provide you with a report of every single error found on your website. From there, you can either ask us to correct the on-page and backend errors for you. Or, if you’re feeling especially tech-savvy, you can take a crack at it yourself. Either way, there is no downside here. You have a clean website with zero errors, and you can rest assured that your website will continue to grow and rank up on Google searches.

How to Use WordPress Like the Pros

Keeping your business’ website up to date is incredibly important. Regardless of your industry, Google search queries fluctuate over time; these Google searches tend to change seasonally, and staying ahead of your competition will ensure that your business continues to rank higher and higher over time. You might also spot an issue on your website or might want to make a quick change without having to ask us to make the change for you. In order to empower you to make changes on your own, we are now offering a variety of tutorials that will teach you how to use WordPress like the pros!

Is WordPress Hard to Use?

WordPress can be a daunting service at first—WordPress is fully customizable, and sorting through the extensive user interface can be overwhelming. Once you have a general understanding of the toolbars, navigation buttons, individual widgets, and special features, making changes on the backend can actually be pretty easy. Unfortunately, despite the fact that some of the functions appear to be easy, the margin of error on WordPress’ backend can be unforgiving. Sometimes a minor error that you don’t even realize you’ve made can break your website. So, in order to make sure this doesn’t happen to you and your company, we are now providing three kinds of WordPress tutorials to make your life easier.

1. Written WordPress Tutorials

Some of you may have never used WordPress—if this is the case, you have nothing to worry about. For those of you who have never had to make a change on a website, we will provide you with a document that will guide you through the fundamentals of how to use WordPress. These guides will address the building blocks of all WordPress functions. After you read through our tutorial, you will be able to:

  • Use the WordPress Dashboard
  • Implement Media via the Image Gallery
  • Edit and Add Media
  • Edit Text

By following this module, you will be able to make changes as needed. After a little bit of practice, you’ll find that making small changes is much easier than you might think. But that’s not all we have to offer!

2. Custom Requests for WordPress Tutorials

For those of you who are especially tech-savvy, the pre-written tutorial might not be enough to address some of the functionalities you hope to use on a regular basis. If you need more information and personalized instruction for how to use WordPress in a more extensive way, just let us know and we will reach out to you to gather those additional details. (of note: this personalized tutorial will require a service fee).

3. Virtual WordPressTutorial + Reference Video

If things still aren’t clicking, or if you learn better from having someone show you how to perform a function, we have just the service for you. One of our skilled web designers will actually video call you and walk through answering any and all questions you might have in real-time! You can take the lead (after all, you know what questions matter most to you) and we will do all we can to make sure you leave the session understanding everything we’ve talked about. We’ll even record the session on our end and give you a video copy just in case you forget something from the session.

Ready to Learn More?

Changing up your website doesn’t have to be hard. We are confident that any of these three tutorial services will increase your WordPress skills. As we said earlier, we take pride in providing you with gold-standard website maintenance that our clients are raving about, but we hope that these tutorials will help you out in a pinch. For more information about our three types of WordPress tutorials, reach out to our awesome Project Manager, April, for more details about pricing and how to get started. We look forward to hearing from you!
