This week, April and Amanda attended the annual BizWomen Mentoring Monday event at The Pfister Hotel in Downtown Milwaukee. Sponsored by leaders in banking, industry and the nonprofit sector, the event was a great opportunity to spend the morning with inspirational women in Milwaukee.

What is the Mentoring Monday Event?

The Milwaukee Business Journal offered a one-of-a-kind event that brings together women in a supportive atmosphere. This event offered attendees the chance to choose from over 50 mentors for one-on-one coaching sessions through seven-minute conversations as well as roundtable discussions. Among the 50 plus mentors were some of the most influential women in the Wisconsin business community.

Everyone who attended had the opportunity to meet with several mentors and network with other attendees. Through fun and fast-paced interactions, attendees were given the chance to meet new people and gain meaningful insights about their goals and careers.

Key Takeaways from the Mentoring Monday Event

For Amanda, the event “provided a great sense of community where everyone was open and interested in helping each other learn and grow.” In particular, Amanda enjoyed meeting and learning from Kathy Ehley, the Mayor of Wauwatosa. While talking about their mutual love of volunteering, Amanda learned that Kathy is passionate about Next Door Foundation, an organization that Brew City Marketing has provided volunteer support in recent months.

What was the best part for April? Making vital connections in a supportive environment. April left the event with valuable knowledge about maintaining a work-life balance, moving up the career ladder and continuing to pursue her passions. She’s already looking forward to next year’s event!

During this event, April and Amanda met and spoke with many influential Milwaukee-area professionals, including:
