Brew City Marketing Sponsors the 7th Annual Laura’s Smile Mile

Laura's Smile Mile

Brew City Marketing is sponsoring the 7th annual Laura’s Smile Mile being held on June 1, 2013 on Milwaukee’s lakefront at Veterans Park.

Last summer, Brew City Marketing owners Mark and Amanda Dalnodar were just two of nearly a hundred volunteers working as support personnel to help set up, stage and manage the record breaking event. Besides the 5K run, the event includes a 2 Mile Walk, a children’s run, bouncy houses, cupcake decorating, live music, raffles, refreshments, and more. They were joined by hundreds of runners, walkers, and families with participants representing from 15 states spanning the East to West coast. The event is sponsored by the Laura’s Smile Foundation and the Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Society.

Originally created to honor the beautiful spirit, faith and unforgettable smile of Laura David, an ovarian cancer victim who passed away in 2011 at age 30, Laura’s Smile Foundation continues to educate and advocate issues concerning ovarian cancer.

Brew City Marketing owners Mark and Amanda have a personal connection to the fundraiser as well as community ties: Laura’s husband, Mark David, is a close friend. “It is a disease with such subtle symptoms, most women ignore speaking to their doctor until unfortunately the cancer has progressed to stage where survival rates greatly diminish,” says Amanda. The five year survival rate for women diagnosed with this disease is only 43% vs. 90% for breast cancer. The low survival rate is mainly due to lack of awareness of the symptoms and a reliable method of early detection. Approximately only 15% of ovarian cancer patients are diagnosed in the early stages.

Laura’s Smile Foundation, officially created in 2010 as a 501(c)(3) charity by Laura’s sister-in-law Denielle Beilfuss and her friends Michele Buchicchio and Cassie Simpson, is dedicated to leading the movement towards ovarian cancer awareness. They are committed to raising non-profit funds to continuing the battle against ovarian cancer through education, advocacy and research. All activities are devoted to providing support, hope and honor to those whom have been affected by ovarian cancer.

Giving Back: Krause Livelihood

Brew City Marketing Helps Wisconsin Family Triumph Over Tragedy

When we heard that the Krause family needed a website to help them connect with potential donors and volunteers, we knew that we had to do our part for this courageous Wisconsin family. The Krauses have faced challenges that most of us can’t even imagine—a catastrophic accident, diagnosis of a rare genetic disorder, the potential diagnosis of another—and yet, they still face each and every day with a strength and courage that humbles us. That’s why we’re proud to share our small part in their amazing story.

When high school sweethearts Ben and Kim got married and began planning their lives together, they certainly didn’t plan on the nearly-fatal accident in 2010 that would leave Kim a quadriplegic, paralyzed from the chest down. Even Ben’s training as a military firefighter and first responder couldn’t have prepared him for the overwhelming responsibility that caring for his wife, their children and their home would become for him after that day. And now, having gotten through “the worst” of it—the dangerous surgeries, the grueling physical therapy, the numbing depression and more—they’re ready to start building the future they dreamed of for themselves and their children. That’s why they founded Krause Livelihood: to raise the funds needed to afford Kim’s therapeutic equipment and to find volunteers to help them remodel their home to meet Kim’s new physical needs.

To support their efforts, we donated our services to create a full-fledged website for their cause. With their new website, the Krause family can now share their story, reach out to potential donors and volunteers, blog about what’s happening in their lives, and keep us all connected with their progress. It’s just our way of helping the Krauses reach their dreams. To learn more about this heroic family, we invite you to visit their website www.krauselivelihood.com.

Milwaukee Internet Marketing and Web Design Firm Explodes onto the Scene with New Website

After three years in business, Brew City Marketing has come to know all of the tricks for developing expertly crafted websites that offer the kind of creative web design Milwaukee consumers respond to.

In just three short years, the need for local companies to have their own custom designed website has grown exponentially. Not that the need wasn’t prevalent prior to 2009, but as small business owners continue to understand, having a well designed website can make a big difference in the number of new business that comes from the Internet. Brew City Marketing, a local Milwaukee Internet marketing agency, is an expert at creating eye-catching, responsive websites. “We know what elements a website needs to convert potential customers into loyal patrons,” says owner, Mark Dalnodar. Poor web design can not only drive potential clients away, but, it can also have a negative affect on the credibility of your company.

In order to relay the importance of web design Milwaukee companies need to succeed, Dalnodar puts it this way: “Think of your website as a virtual store front on a congested street corner; every day, hundreds of potential customers walk past your store, but you have only a few seconds to catch their interest. How your storefront looks is a big reason why people want to visit, and hang around. Your website needs to be viewed in the same manner. It should be clean, uncluttered, and easy to navigate; it should also be warm, friendly, and give relevant information.”

With three years experience and over 250 websites developed, Brew City Marketing has the skills and experience necessary to create compelling web design for local Milwaukee companies. Should You “Build Your Own Website?”

There are a number of companies out there currently advertising this kind of service, or something very similar. The specific offers might change, but the basics of the arrangement are something like this: You log onto their website, choose a template that somewhat fits your business, and then “fill in the blanks” with your own text and images. The whole thing is supposed to take just a few minutes, and cost you only a very small fraction of what a custom-built small business website would.

Sounds like a no-brainer, doesn’t it?

It can be, so long as you don’t mind trading a few dollars now for profitability later. That’s because a “build your own” type of website is virtually useless in terms of online marketing. It doesn’t give potential customers much insight into what kind of business you’re running or make any kind of positive impression about your company at all. In other words, you tend to get what you’re paying for – which in this case is almost nothing at all.

Of course, it’s understandable that many entrepreneurs, self-employed professionals, and others are facing tighter budgets than they might like. Still, is getting a website that doesn’t set you apart from the competition in any way – or even makes you look worse – really the best answer?

Here are a few better ways to save money on your next business website, without resorting to useless templates:

Start with a smaller business website. Lots of marketers mistakenly assume that they need dozens of pages to show off their various products, services, staff bios, etc. The reality is that slimming down your site isn’t usually just less expensive, but also makes it more user-friendly for the potential customers who view your pages. See if you can boil your business, and your new website, down to a few key ideas and then build pages around those. If you need more in the future, you can always expand later.

Use a good content management system. A quality CMS is the backbone of your business website, allowing you to grow, refocus, or change your site structure and content as you choose, and without any help from your business web design team. Brew City Marketing utilizes WordPress for many of our websites. In addition, most will have advanced marketing and analytics features that make your site more functional and valuable from the date it’s launched. You might spend a few extra dollars upfront for a quality CMS, but it’s an investment that will pay you back time and time again as you change and update your site for free.

Get your money back faster. As in many parts of business, the best way to save money on a business website is to actually spend a bit more and make a wise investment. That’s because a quality design won’t just last you years longer than a template will (meaning that you won’t have to pay for a new site), but it can also help you grow your business. How many new sales or clients would you need for a quality business website to pay for itself? What would it be worth to have your business growing every month?

It’s easy to understand why so many people are tempted to use “build your own” style services for business web design. Unfortunately, they hardly ever turn out to be the kind of value you’re looking for.

Brew City Marketing understands the challenges that start-ups face. Give us a call today and we’ll provide product or payment options to make it easier for you to have a professional website and internet marketing strategy that will bring you new business.

We put a laser focus on 3 things so we can be the best at them.

3. Central Location. Our office is located near Mayfair Mall. Do you know where Mt. Mary College is? If so, we located a few blocks south of there on 92nd and Center St. We’re here every day during the week from 9-5pm. Feel free to call and schedule an appointment to meet with us face to face. Internet marketing products and services can be complicated. We take pride in educating you so that you can have a good understanding on the services we provide. Some of our clients don’t care to know all the details, and that is fine too.

4. Outstanding Customer Service. When you call, we either pick up or at the very least get back to you within 24 hours. The same person that you meet when you purchased your website is the same contact throughout the web design and development process.

5. Flat Rate Web Design, Hosting, and SEO Packages. We understand that businesses need transparent pricing for Internet Marketing services.
